Our mother is notoriously bad at receiving things. She is one of the most generous people, but when it comes to receiving, all of her children know that you better provide a gift receipt, because your gift is probably going back. The ONE thing she always loves to receive and can't return, is a bouquet of flowers from her youngest daughter, Claire. When Claire was younger, she used to walk down the road, or out into the fields on our farm to pick wildflower bouquets for Mom. It's been their thing. Adult Claire has been known to stop on the highway to pick a flower for Mom.
